You walk in to Panera Bread Restaurant and order one of their delectable sandwiches. You can’t resist that oversized gourmet chocolate cookie for desert. The company actually opened its doors in 1981. It was then know as Au Bon Pain Co., Inc. Billing itself as a “Bakery-Café,” Au Bon Pain did very well growing along the eastern United States and developing a loyal customer base. Beginning in the 1980s and continuing through the 1990s, they began opening up stores internationally. It became the preeminent “Bakery-Café” leader in a lightly tapped category and almost immediately folks fell in love with the Panera Bread recipes.

The Saint Louis Bread Company, another “Bakery-Café” business with over 20 stores, was purchased by the company in 1993. The company reinvented that place, changing its name to “Panera Bread,” increasing its average unit volumes by 75% in the process. In the late 1990s, they began to realize that there was huge potential in the company. It was thought that to continue to grow and prosper, they needed to increase its name recognition. Panera Bread Recipes You Will Love!

One of the reasons I created this blog is to help people like me, who want to try making their favorite Panera Bread recipes at home, the chance to do so by providing them with information on the ingredients needed and the preparation it takes. I will constantly update my site to include a Panera Bread recipe you all will love.

One of my favorite Panera Bread recipes is the Grilled Turkey and Brie Sandwich with Cranberries. To make this delectable creation you will need:

4 tablespoons of unsalted butter (a little more to put in the skillet)

8 nice sized slices of Panera Country artisan bread

1 lb of sliced roast turkey breast

½ cup of cranberry chutney

½ lb sliced Brie cheese

1 bunch of trimmed baby arugula

½ cup of chopped walnuts

Now to make this Panera Bread recipe, you will need to begin from the bottom to the top. Spread a bit of butter on one of the slices of bread, put 1 tablespoon of the chutney on top of it and smooth it all out. Put a couple slices of brie and a few slices of the turkey on top. Throw down the walnuts and arugula leaves over the top. Butter the second slice of bread and press down on it, making sure the buttered side is down facing the sandwich. Do the same with the remaining ingredients.

Heat a bit of butter in a skillet over medium/low heat. Make sure you cover the bottom of the pan with the butter. Put the sandwich in the middle and press down on it with something heavy like a pot or big tomato can. After one minute, flip to the other side and leave on for another minute. It’s ready! Now just cut it in the center and serve.

This is a great one, but there other Panera Bread recipes that are just as good. You could make them at home or just go to any of the Panera Bread locations close to you and have them make it for you. You may want to bring along Panera Bread coupons to save some money. Soon you will be making everything on the Panera Bread menu.
